The Camp Recovery Center is proud to serve United States military veterans who are seeking treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns through the Department of Veterans Affairs Community Care Network.
What Is the Community Care Network?
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Community Care Network (CCN) was created in 2018 to offer a direct link between the VA and providers in communities around the nation.
The VA’s development of the CCN was done to ensure that veterans have timely access to quality care that is also widely available. The creation of the CCN enables veterans to receive treatment from authorized providers within the community, as well as from VA facilities.
The CCN is organized into six regional networks. It includes thoroughly vetted treatment providers for residents of all 50 states and all U.S. territories.
Optum Public Sector Solutions Inc. serves as the third-party administrator (TPA) for three of the regions; TriWest Healthcare Alliance is the TPA for two; and Region 6, which includes American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands, has not yet been granted a designated provider.
Optum
Optum Public Sector Solutions Inc., which is most often referred to as Optum, is part of UnitedHealth Group.
Optum received a contract in 2018 from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to serve as the third-party administrator (TPA) for three regions in the VA’s Community Care Network (CCN).
Optum is the TPA for Regions 1, 2, and 3. These regions include states in the northeastern, southeastern, and central areas of the United States, as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Navigating the CCN
The Camp Recovery Center is part of Acadia Healthcare, which features a Military & Family Support Services (MFS) team. This group includes a nationwide network of military liaisons who can help veterans, active-duty military members, and their family members navigate the Community Care Network (CCN) and connect them with the treatment programs that best meet their specific needs.
With liaisons located in communities throughout the United States, the MFS team is able to connect service members with trusted providers of quality behavioral healthcare services. The MFS team has considerable experience with the CCN, enabling them to offer optimal guidance to the individuals and families who are pursuing treatment.
